The Best Documentaries and Books to Learn More About EMF

When we first heard about electromagnetic fields and possible impacts on our well-being, we were truly surprised about our big lack of knowledge. But of course somewhere deep in our subconscious mind, alarm bells are starting to ring when thinking about all the electronic devices we are using in our daily life.

We are more aware of the direct impact – what we can obviously see and experience: the change in social interaction, new opportunities but also risks of access to so much more information, etc.

But what are the non-visible consequences? What are electromagnetic fields in general, how do they work and what can they cause? We tend to think that if something is used by everyone and is everywhere around us it must be safe. But is that really true?

So we started our research and were facing quite a variety of literature and sources: the range was between very complex physical sources and interesting but also too superficial, dry, or boring explanations.

Here we share our top 5 sources which we used to gain more knowledge about EMF and the impact it can have on our health and well-being:

  1. Documentary: GENERATION ZAPPED [2018]
  2. Documentary: Mobilize [2014]
  3. Book: Overpowered: The Dangers of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) and What You Can Do about It [2013]
  4. Book: Overpowered: The Dangers of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) and What You Can Do about It [2019]
  5. Book: The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs: How to Fix Our Stupid Use of Technology [2018]

Please note that for none of the documentaries/books you will need any previous knowledge. Every source will start from scratch.

#1 Documentary: GENERATION ZAPPED
Released in 2018 // 1h 24min
Content: EMF in general, health risks and lobbyism

Generation Zapped is a documentary which we can highly recommend to everyone who wants to have a good overview of the potential health effects of the technology we use. The documentary is highly informative and presents the complexity of the topic very well so everyone can understand it. It shows how radiation of wireless technologies can cause health risks such as infertility and cancer but also shows ways how to protect yourself against it.

It also uncovers why wireless devices enter the market without any proper pre-market testing or post-market monitoring and why very little is done to create awareness about the health risks it has on us and our children. Here you can find the trailer and if you decide to watch the documentary you can find it here on Amazon (free for prime users).

#2 Documentary: Mobilize
Released in 2014 // 84 min
Content: Cell phone radiation and its potential long-term health effects

If you want to increase your awareness about the usage of cell-phones (and/or of your kids) we can recommend “Mobilize”. The documentary was already published in 2014 but even 6 years later the topic is not less current AND should be taken even more seriously.

The documentary includes scientific researches that show the possible long-term health risks. It also shows the power of the mobile industry and how it affects media, government, and average consumers to keep the awareness as low as possible.

You can find the trailer here on Youtube and the full documentary here on Amazon.

#3 Book: Overpowered: The Dangers of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) and What You Can Do About It
Released: 2013 // 272 pages
Author: Martin Blank PhD

“Overporwered” by Martin Blank is in our opinion a great starting point for further reading about EMF. It brings light into various aspects of the issues associated with the potential dangers of wireless technology in a very clear and simple way. There’s no sensationalism; just the facts, backed up by a lot of published research.

Dr. Blank has been studying the effects of EMF’s for more than 30 years and has dedicated most of his life to research and education about this controversial topic.

Even though it was published in 2013 it is not outdated and a must-read for everyone who wants to increase his knowledge and awareness of the technology-led modern world. Nevertheless – more current topics such as 5g you will obviously not find in here.

You can find the book here on Amazon in hardcover, paperback and eBook versions.

#4 Book: EMF Practical Guide:The Simple Science of Protecting Yourself, Healing Chronic Inflammation, and Living a Naturally Healthy Life in our Toxic Electromagnetic World.
Released: 2019 // 292 pages
Author: Lloyd Burrell
Content: 5G, Tips on how to reduce EMF exposure

If you want to inform yourself about more recent topics such as 5G or if you want guidance about how to protect yourself against EMF, we highly recommend the “EMF Practical Guide”. The book offers very well-documented reasons why everybody should be minimizing their EMF exposure. Furthermore, it provides many different strategies and solutions, ranging from free, quick, and easy to more advanced ways to protect yourself against EMF.

Lloyd Burrell is telling his own story and how he fully regained his health after suffering years of massive fatigue, unexplained aches and pains. It really is an excellent practical guide. This book is very recommendable for people with EMF sensitivity.
